The Velo-city Global 2010 Programme

The ambition with Velo-city Global 2010 was to create a conference with plenty of time for interaction, involvement and reflection, with the participants as active main players, not just passive listeners. As is often the case with conferences. We also wanted the participants to gain relevant insights and knowledge, no matter what their realities are back home.

Programme structure
Each day of the conference started with and ended with a plenary session in order to ensure common ground across the variety of backgrounds and experiences with cycling related work among the participants.

In between the plenaries, the participants could choose between a total of 180 subplenary presentations, ranging from the intimate roundtable sessions over the participatory question workshops to the field-based CPH 1:1 format - (click here)

A very popular format was ‘Meet the Danes’ - click here where 68 Danish cycle experts offered participants their insights with regard to infrastructure, campaigns and strategies and much more in a 6 x 8 minutes Speed Dating format.

And Collaboration for the Future - click here was an opportunity to explore the vital networking element of any work with promoting cycling.

The speakers
The speakers ranged from politicians and experts with lots of influence internationally to NGOs who works locally. From Urban Planners to PR Officers.
